サムとの再会

サムに読んでもらえるように、本日の日記は英語で綴ります。

Given that I'm a grad student, I know few undergrad students in my college. Sam is one of them. I don't quite remember how I've got to know him. Perhaps, we took lunch at the same table at the Catz hall? (Sam, you could remind me of this, couldn't you?) Anyway, since then, we've kept in touch, though the actual form of communication has often been that of saying 'hi' when we bumped into each other in a street. Still, he is the undergrad student in my college with whom I talked with most frequently.

Sam, who has recently finished his dissertation, is going to leave the UK soon... So, I made use of today to meet up with Sam after a long interval of silence!

We were initially supposed to gather in front of our college, but the college hall was closed, unfortunately. I suggested that we could meet at a Japanese restaurant but we couldn't make it either, this time because the seats were fully occupied. We then tried a few pubs only to find that they didn't have empty seats. Finally, we've came to a restaurant along the Turl Street under the heavy rain shower through this long (!) journey.

In the end, however, the restaurant turned out to be quite nice, with a beef steak pie being particularly good!

Sam is gonna work at the Singapore Airlines. This is amazing, since, at least in my view (and I'm sure lots of people agree with me) the Singapore Airlines is one of the best airline companies in the world. In fact, I have travelled with the Singapore Airlines for four times, and their service is always terrific!

Well, I've spent too much writing about the airline company, and what I wanted to say should be something else :) Sam, I enjoyed talking with you today, and I wish you good luck with your bright future career!! Oh, and I hope you won't get cold after you got beaten by heavy rain, take care :)
